74 Evinrude 25 hp surging?

I took this boat out a couple weekends ago, after it had been sitting for about 6 months. It ran great @ full throttle ran real good solid, no sputtering or anything. It also idled real good witch is something it hasent ever done very good. Last weekend I took it out and I never full throttled it until heading back to boat ramp, When it started bogging down, and surging like it wanted to go but then would bog then try to go then bog again. Like it was surging, I figured I fouled a plug, so I changed both plugs and still same thing. So I went home cleaned carb out , while I was taking bolts loose to take off the starter . I noticed a ground wire that bolted to chassis was loose, it went to the underside of the flywheel. I just tighted it back up and went back out today, thinking I just had some junk free up in the carb. Well I still does it and I dont know where to start. I dont know if that loose wire made something arc under the flywheel and now it doesnt want to run right or idle very good. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.<br /><br />Thanks

Sounds like a cylinder dropping out on ya'. I would pop the flywheel and take a look at the condition of the points. If they ain't been changed out for a while, may be time.<br /><br />Carb....did you blow carb cleaner threw all passages and follow up with compressed air? Always a good thing to do.<br /><br />Keep us posted.....thanks.
