I'm thinking of adding remote controls to my kicker - not for starting, but just for throttle and shifting. I noticed when working on the engine this spring that the throttle and shift linkages inside the cowling have brackets for remote cables. So I'm thining all I need is the control box and cables.

Will these be fairly standard/current items - or am I looking at an "NLA" situation and need to dig up the used parts somewhere?

Thanks, as usual (will report soon on final effects of earlier questions/work - finally got all the parts I need to put the carb and coil back together and will run within the next couple of days, I hope!)

ANy merc dealer will have the trottle cables and controls - But i would suggest finding some used ones. My cables and controls for the 2004 series controller was around $400...

You can find some old mercury controls with the cables on ebay or wherever for under $100.

Thanks for the advice - that's what I was thinking but I wanted something that would work.
