hey guys just got this motor and i have a question about it. i took it out to the lake yesterday and at full throttle it would run great for a min or two and then bog down. i could bring the throttle back down to almost idle and go full throttle again and it would do the same thing run great for a few min and bog down. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance. 1977 75 hp chrysler.

Could be starving for fuel at WOT. Try having someone squeeze the primer bulb when it starts bogging and see if it picks back up.

It would tell you if you are looking at a fuel issue or an ignition issue. Could be float level wrong and bowl is running dry when you are in the throttle but fills back up when you slow down. Could be a weak fuel pump or could be primer bulb or fuel line connectors sucking air or something like that. You can also shoot a little fuel into the throat of the carbs when it is bogging down to determine which carb is starving (if that is the problem at all). Just my shade tree back yard mechanic's two cents.

Clean and rebuild carbs... that fixed my issue when I had this problem..

you may be over heating. just slightly. or could be what the others said. but check your impeller just to be safe. if your impeller is worn it will cool ok for most ranges of throttle except full throttle it heats up to much, bogs, and by the time you throttle down you have had enough water flow to cool it just enogh to do it again. check impeller, and do what others said too

oh okay i was wondering about that because the motor doesnt have a tale tail so cant tell if its pumping water while moving on the water. im going to put one on but havnt done it yet
