Hi,

The power trim/tilt unit will no longer go up or down. It just stopped working halfway up with a little spit and sputter. Had to undo the relief screw at the bottom to let the engine down all the way. I know this is pretty vague but anybody have any idea how to start troubleshooting? What I can do to start eliminating step by step? Thanks in advance.

Check voltage at wire connector to motor while someone operates the switch. That should tell you weather the problem is in motor or electrical system.

I am getting power to the seloniods. I changed the o-rings and put fluid in and now the motor will not go down unless I undo the relief screw at the bottom. Could the seloniods be stuck or something...I'm not exactly sure how they work?

Does the motor run, or do the solenoids just click? What o-rings did you replace?

The sound from the selonoid sounds fairly normal - not clicking. I replaced the o-rings on the bottom two selonoids - took the head off and replaced both at the bottom where the piston fits into the sleeve and where the ram comes through at the top (where the stud protrudes through to push the motor up and let down.) I am unsure how to replace the fluid and bleed the system. Motors sound good just no up or down with the hydrolics. Thanks in advance.
