75 MERC 1500 ONLY IDLES

Please help<br /><br />Finaly got the thing started and it idles like a dream. Only thing is that when I put the throttle down it only goes into gear!(no change what so ever in rpm's) I have just put a new distributor assembly on and when i rotate it for the merc controls the rpms go up. I don't think it is a fuel problem as absolutley nothing happens. Any thoughts?

Are you saying that the throttle cable from the control box is not moving??

the throttle cable is moving all the way. It just does not mive anything on the carbs. If I open the wastegates by hand it works great.

It doesn't sound like the linkage under the cowl is connected to the cable input.
