Does anyone know where to get a "shift acuator" for the shifter on a 1975 OMC?

The part I need is the black tube on the back of the shifter that acuates the electric shift. I call it this for lack of better words. Solenoid maybe? I can't find one anywhere.

Are you talking about inside the throttle/shifter lever assy? Sometimes pictures help.

Details man! Details! Or a Boomyal said, pictures! Too many different shifters to choose from. Is it side mount, binancle mount, single lever?? Let us know and we'll try to help!

Re: '75 OMC shifter - Electric

It is a side mount shifter, no pics because I put it all back together. I have it on a toggle switch right now, which works, but if I let anyone else drive, I don't think it is safe. The movement of the shifter is throttle onyl, not gear selection.

Anywho, on the back side of the shifter there is a black plastic tube that the shift wires connect to. This tube has a rod that connects to the throttle lever and actuates the shift functions. When you move the shifter, the rod moves inside the tube and selects the gear. Does this help? If not, I can bust the assembly apart AGAIN to take pics, but if I can get it done with none, it would be of great help to me.

Same shifter I have. I think I know the part you mean. I checked the couple of sites i know but didn't see it. Not seeing alot of shifter parts at all actually. I'll check a little more after work.
