75 to 90

I have a 2006 75hp merc 4stroke is it difficult or expensive to turn it into a 90. Just curious????

Expensive; yes

Go to your dealer and trade it in. It would be cheaper than buying the parts needed, and you won't be voiding the warranty.

Thanks for the reply, I own a 2005 1775 Lund Pro V so I can't have a 90 due to rating I was just curious, but since it would be too expensive the 75 will do nicely.

People look at engine specs and see that the displacement is the same and assume that its bigger jets or some little tweak that makes the next larger size engine. In the case of two strokes, porting, exhaust tuners, carbs, and timing can make the difference. In four strokes its camshaft profiles, carbs/fuel injection systems, exhaust tuning and ignition timing. From the manufacturers perspective its inexpensive to build the engine. From the consumers standpoint its generally very expensive.

That and it's illegal. At least im many states. That would open a huge can of worms. Don't go there. If the boat isn't enough for you, get one that is.
