Ok guys I have tried all I know and am at a loss. My chrystler runs great on muffs but get her in the water and she bogs down and runs at about 1/4 power at full throttle. If I hit the choke it will help her out but not to full throttle. The compression is fine and I have new plugs with good spark on all 3? Any sugestions?

When you say compression is fine what are the actual numbers? The choke thing is saying fuel but the power thing is saying either compression or electronic. You might start with rebuild of carb and fuel pump and replace all fuel hose and primer bulb. Re adjust carbs and see if there is any improvements. Also please post your model number so that we can determine what ignition system it has.

You said it ran fine on muffs. I'm assuming that you ran at nothing more than idle. Does it idle in the water okay? I would replace the fuel pump diaphragm if you have not already done so. If the fuel hoses are old , I'd replace them too and the bulb.

Re: 75hp chrysler in water power problems

Fuel line is all new, including tank and bulb. compression is 146,148,150. I ran the decarb w\ the seafoam and it seemed to help a bit but it still does not want to start or run very reliably. I have to squirt some fuel down the carbs to get it to fire and after it starts it just runs very rough, sometimes, sometimes it idles great, and will not stay running long. also it seems that the bulb will stay tight sometimes and others it looses it?I am at a loss as far adjusting the carbs, I have no idea how to do that on an outboard. I am buying the rebuild kit for it and doing that this weekend. I am hoping it is nothing more than the fact that the carbs needed work? Any other help would be great.
