hey guys been awhile since i have been on, but now i have another problem..i got a 76 135 johnson that will not get any fire..fuse is good switched out the power packs with one that i think is good (was when i pulled it of another motor)..will a stator keep it from getting fire?

oh yeah and a update on that 115 and 85 swap i was doing on the intake and stuff, motor runs like a bat out hell..just o refresh your memories i got this boat with a 115 on it took it out the 2nd day i had it and cracked the block. switched over the lower unit frim the 115 to the 85 and the carbs and intake..oh yeah and i got it on a 17' bass tracker flat bottom boat that had a 40 horse on it when i got it..lol

Re: 76 135

The stator has two large "charge" coils and several smaller alternator coils. The words are misleading because "charge" refers to charging the power pack, not charging the battery. So.o.o.o., if the charge coils are bad it won't charge the power pack and you won't have any fire. Too-slow cranking will do the same thing.

Individual coils are not repalceable.
