Hey everyone,
I have a 76 115hp Evinrude
It runs ok, but when I start it and it doesn't start right away it makes this loud squeal sound, that's just simply annoying and embarrassing... Is this just the starter? or is this something I could lube?

The other thing is when I'm putting it back on my trailer, and am trying to give it a little more gas to get it all the way onto the trailer, and it just dies... Is there any explanation on why it can't at least try to push the boat up?

Thanks for any input! I appreciate it!

Use some white lithium grease to lube the starter internals. Clean all the carbon out of it when you have it apart and check the brushes for wear. Is the idle speed in gear too low? Should be 650-750 in gear, when floating normally in the water.

I will try to grease the starter, But since I'm in MN, I will wait a few weeks till its a little warmer... And I'm not sure on the rpm on my idling... I don't know how I would check that (no gauge)...however I have cleaned my carbs out last season, replaced plugs, and installed new coils.
