Ok so on my last outing the waterpump went catastrophically and blew the head gasket. so ive replaced the gasket and have good comp. and installed a new waterpump and now it seems it doesn't pump quite the same as before.
this motor has no tell tale and I used to be able to tell it was pumping by the exhaust overflow holes on the upper mid section but now it seems water does not come out there but it does flow out of the hub, it used to come out above like nobody's business and I'm afraid to run it to long as to overheat it again.
should I be worried about a possible clog in the system or is it there some other reason for this?

Powerhead to exhaust housing gasket could be burned up/blown. If I remember correctly, there are some plastic parts in there that melt too. May have destroyed the thermostat also.

the gasket makes sense but I noticed when I put the new head gasket on there was no thermostat which doesn't surprise me here in Florida, it seems most think they aren't needed here. Is there anyway of checking/testing the exhaust gasket to be sure? and will it hurt anything to run it like that for awhile?
