The is a leak under the motor cover on the back side of the fuel pump. When the motor is running, every time the pump pumps a squirt of fuel come from one of the holes on the back. What is wrong?

The cover over the strainer likes to crack (doesn't sound like yours).

Try snugging-up the screws.

Anything else, replace the pump. There are rebuild kits available, but don't go there. You have to have the patience of a saint and steadiness of a surgeon to have a prayer. Dang good eyesight, too.

Re: 76 Johnson 115 fuel pump leak

I have a 77 Johnson 70 HP fuel pump leak that is identical to this. It shoots fuel out of this small hole coming out the backside of the fuel pump. I took apart the entire fuel pump and still can not figure out what is wrong. If you do figure what is needed please let me know as well. It's not a huge deal in my case just more annoying that you know its happening.
