I think I have a bad starter solenoid, but I wanted to check for any other possibilities before I buy parts. Everything seems to work correctly until the boat engine starts. Then the starter motor disengages but keeps turning. At this point there is 12 volts on the starter and a pulsing voltage on the solenoid input. If the boat engine is not running the starter engages and stops normally with the key switch. The more I think about this it could be the starter switch and a feedback voltage. Any ideas?

You need to check the small yellow/red terminal on the solinoid if there is voltage there when its acting up it's the switch if there is no voltage it's the solinoid
