77 omc ford 351 dies in fwd rev ok

It dies when I go to put it in forward but in reverse no problem.Now if its fully warmed up it wont die.I had thought since I just tuned it I need to re adj points\timing but since rev seems ok ?????

Do you have a shift interupter switch?<br />idel rpms?<br />points eee follow setup standard.<br />more info would be helpfull!

This is probably an electric shift OMC so no shift interrupter switch.<br /><br />Hard to believe it makes a difference between forward and reverse.

I don't get it either.This is my first i\o the others were outboards.But if I go in rev it stays running try to go forward it idles down and dies.I can't even drop it in gear and give it gas fast.but when the temp is 140 it bogs down a little but dosnt die and accepts gas.Now I keep this in the water 24\7 could growth on the prop cause this?
