78 140 Johnson

I have a 1978 140hp Johnson. Have a chance to buy a 1979 140 hp Evinrude for parts and the power tilt unit which my Johnson doesn't have. Also a better powerhead than my 78 which I have opened up and it needs a rebore on one cylinder. My question is: is the 79 140 Evinrude about the same as my 78? This 79 is dirt cheap. It is a freshwater motor whereas my 78 isn't.
