78 18' Kona Makai Outboard Boat motor size?

I am trying to find out how big an outboard motor this boat is rated for. I cannot find any technical info on it. I am going to have to replace the motor that is on it (Merc 115) but was told not to go over a 150.
Any suggestions would be great. Thanks

Did you run the boat with a 115? If so, were you happy with the performance? If so, why change?

Rated hp is a Boating Industry Association (BIA) certification and it takes several things into consideration. You can probably answer your own question as to whether or not your boat is BIA rated for 150 hp by going to their site and looking at their rating criteria and then applying it to your boat. Boat mfgr. really has nothing to do with it.
