78 402 hair puller!

So when i ground plugs there is a little blue arc that jumps around. i know that blue is good and orange is bad. i dont think that i am getting gas into the cylinders. got gas running out of carb. fuel pump seems to be working. cyl. have good compression(#1 115/ #2 120). thought maybe reed valves where bad but when i take off carb and roll motor over with hand over intake sucks in great. when trying to start there is smoke coming out the 2 exhaust ports under the handle in the back, smells gassy. motor fired 1 time ran great for 30 sec. shut it down, now it wont even pop. what is going on. there are no places around me to take to and have it looked at. need help!!!!!Josh

when trying to start the motor, it still sounds as if it is not getting enough gas. Try pulling the plugs again and see if they are completly dry or they may be soaked from the fuel if it is old gas that does not want to lite.
