78 500/50, Mercontrol parts help

I have a 78 500/50, SN#4805706, with a black 2-lever Mercontrol with separate choke button. I need to replace the wiring harness from the control to the engine. I cannot figure out what the correct part # is for a Mercury harness. If it helps, the plug at the end of the harness where it connects to the engine is round with female terminals.

Look at the bottom of the page for harness part number, Mercury Wiring Harness

Item number 20 in the link below is your engine side wire harness used just for part number reference while looking at the 50 Electric, 76-79, 4357640-5531629, 414-3369 "details" in the link above.

Thanks for the info. I've seen the aftermarket ones, but I'd rather have an OEM. I've held a couple the aftermarket ones and the wire/insulation seems cheap.

Good luck in finding an OEM harness. They are NLA but I have seen a few used ones show up on the large auction site once in a while. I have been looking for one for my '76 500 for a while with no luck. Let us know if you find one.

I've seen a couple that look like the right ones on that site but since I cannot find any crossover from the part #s listed to any of the old discontinued ones. I just want to avoid buying the wrong one and be stuck with something useless. I'll do some more searching and hopefully find something.
