Hi all I have a 78 Chrysler 45 hp outboard after running out of gas and switching tanks the motor would run only on 1 cylnder no problem with the gas or the tank after checking compression found both cylnders have about 115lbs compression both have bright blue spark new plugs but with both plugs out turning it over the bottom cylnder is spraying gas out about 1' while the top cylnder doesn't ahve any visible spray, after putting the plugs in it will start up but the bottom cylnder is flooded with tons of gas causing it to not fire. <br />Any Idea's have never had a problem with this motor leading up to this.

TRY CLEANING OUT THE PUDDLE VALVE. I HAVE A 1970 55HP CHRYSLER AND THAT WAS THE CURE TO THE PROBLEM. THE LOWER CYLINDER WOULD CONSTANTLY FOUL THE PLUG AND IT WOULD ONLY RUN ON ONE CYL AT LOW SPEEDS. IT SHOULD BE LOCATED JUST FWD OF THE FUEL PUMP ASSY

Hitman4. As a foot note forcing a motor along for to long when its running rough in the hope it will clear itself can be hazadous to your wealth. (But we all do it)Good luck.
