Hi Guys, I'm moving along on my boat resto and decided to start the engine today. I rebuilt the carb, replaced all fuel lines and vacuum lines, and did a water pump. I have owned this 78 35hp evinrude since new and it has had the same problem for as long as I can remember.
When first starting, the motor doesn't want to stay running. it will fire, run rough, then spit and shut off. it will also turn over a bunch before kicking. I know the choke at the key is working. I have the cover off and can see it engage. It runs fine once warm and starts instantly. Any Ideas?
