Help needed:<br /> I have a problem with the boat going in to gear the rpms are at 600 and when I shift it forward it grinds then catchs. In reverse it GRINDS but no catch

Lower Shift Cable is Where you should be Looking.........

thank you for your help that did the trick Blk-n-Blu but the only problem i am having now is Adjusting the stearing if anyone can help let me know.

fred, Do you have power steering? is there a power steering pump on the engine? If not can you describe the steering system.<br />You might try unhooking the outdrive from the steering and seeing if the drive moves freely to isolate the problem.
