new to me ihad it started & it ran fine out of water w/ears trailered it 20 miles then 2 days later tried to start and nothing. i opened the cover & found frayed wires (deteiorated casings) ifixed the bad wires i now have no spark but motor cranks fine/has new fuel and its getting it since it was first started i changed thetrim pin to the highest position for trailering does this unit have a mercury switch i t bradfishd@yahoo.com hink it grounded while i crankd it cause small + wire on solenoid was touching block did ii burn up ignition switch or otherwise pls advise thanks brad

Welcome to iboats,Brad.<br />Remove the Black wire with yellow stripe for the switbox and try it. This eliminates the entire engine kill circuit...his means if it runs, you will have to cut the fuel supply to kill it. This being the case, just use a spray bottle with fuel mix in it, and spray a few good sots into each carb, and see if it sputters or runs briefly, If it does, the problem is in the kill circuit;<br />Lanyard kill switch<br /><br />ignition switch<br /><br />wire hraness to control box (balck/yel wire shorted to ground)<br />And yes, the "Mercury tilt-switch". <br />If it has coninuity with the motor down,it is bad.<br />This wire circuit must be "open" to run.

is mercury switch on drivers side and has an orange wire to it ? is it possible i burned up the powerpack or trigger ? is this system designed to burn up the ignition switch first if + off of solenoid grounds? whats thenext step if its not the igniton/lanyard switch? thanks bradley bradfishd@yahoo.com
