78 Ski doo Everest

I bought a voltage regulator for my 78 everest 440 big fan, but i dont know how to hook it up it is about 1.5 by 2 inches rectangle, 1/2 in thick, and had an aluminum plate coming out the top, and one yellow wire, how do i connect this, also the machine has no working lights, im restarting from scratch, another thing, i have n o power from the yellow wires coming out of the engine, can i tap into one of the coil wires and have the lights on when ever the engine is running. thanks

Chappy, when we dropped AOL, I lost a lot of my websites, one of them was a great source for wiring diagrams for old doos. All I ever did was type "ski-doo wiring diagrams" (or something similar) into google and it hooked me up with a lot of sites. Haven't been working sleds for a few years now, no need here. All my stuff is in MN. Maybe next winter. Looks like he did get a similar wiring diagram from someone who answered.

i understand the diagram i just want to rig someth8ing up cause the lighting coil doesnt work, and i dont want to change it if i take power from the coils and regulate it will it work or will i be starving the coil supply
