I was out n the lake all day Saturday and was having this issue with no real load on the engine.if I was trolling out of a no wake zone and just wanted to jump on it to get out of the hole it wouldn't happen unless I feathered the throttle rapidly but sometimes that will not work either. I have also tried slowly increasing speed to get up to full speed with no luck. I'm not sure if its getting too much fuel or not enough. I tried pulling my kids on a tube , they only weigh 37 and 49 pounds seperatly and when they wanted To go faster, I couldn't. Kinda frustrating. Any pointers? And help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys!

It is probably the carburetor accelerator pump

Not aware of an accelerator pump on this type of carb. Check to see if the tank vent is open and not clogged. Check all hoses, primer for cracks/splits. Check all fittings for worn o rings/loose connections. Most important, check/replace fuel pump diaphragm, this is probably your problem. While in the pump, check operation of the check valves in the pump body, these can be replaced. I'm guessing you are using fresh 50:1 fuel. But I guess before you do all this check compression and spark, if those are all good, go thru the fuel system....do you have an engine manual?

Thank you for all the pointers guys, I took it out on the river today, after reading the manual a little closer I figured out the problem. All the carbs needed complete adjustment. What was happening was the mixture screws on all three were adjusted out to far causing an incorrect air mixture. I adjusted it on the water and man did it fly out of the hole, thanks again!
