Went on vacation for a couple of weeks, came back and batteries were dead from stuck float switch in bilge. Charged batteries and got boat started (voltmeter on dash shows nearly 14 so dont think alternator is problem) but now have no power over 2200 RPM. Feels like its in engine protection mode but have no alarms. All gauges normal. Fuel pressure on low side about 15 and on fuel rail about 45. Changed fuel filter no sign of water or debris. Anyone have any ideas of anything else to try without hooking to computer? Is it possible to be stuck in protect mode from the low voltage of dead batteries? All the techs around here are backed up and we wanted to use for the 4th. Thinking about getting a Rinda overnighted in so I can check/reset myself. Suggestions?

I'm still working a power reduction issue and was wondering if you describe your no power over 2200 RPM. I can ease the throttle up to ~2500 at which point it shuts off one injector (confirmed visually) and if I don't touch the throttle is drops off and when it hits 1200 RPM the injector is re-enabled and the power will begin to build up and start the whole cycle over. Is this similar at all to what you were experiencing?

Thanks,
j

No mine was just a straight miss on 3 cylinders. Yours sounds like its going into engine protection mode. It keeps it between 1200 and 2500 if it detects an issue and it does it by shutting down injectors. You need to get a scanner hooked to it to see if it's getting any fault codes. You can by a scanner from rinda.com but it's about 450. I couldn't really pinpoint what mine was doing until I got the scanner hooked up.

Yea...that's what I was thinkin' but I've been trying to work on my boat as time would allow. Got grandkids runnin' out the ears for the last couple weeks and wanted to take them on the lake.

I've been gettin' some great help here! I was referred to your thread from one of the guys.
If you just are curious here's where my thread is http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=559012&page=2

Thanks for the reply.
