8.1 mercruiser replace crankshaft

Hi 1st time posting here wonder if anyone has replaced or had there crankshaft replaced on a mercruiser 8.1l. I pulled pan and see reluctor is damaged spinning freely on crank.motor has 150 hrs on her was thinking of replacing crank. Any advice or in put would be appreciated.

I think your asking if someone has replaced only the crankshaft and got away with it.

If this is the case, then I don't know of anyone doing so

The reluctor wheel should be held in place by the same key that holds the vibration damper. Is the key still there?

Ayuh,..... Welcome Aboard,....... Replacing a crankshaft ain't that simple, 'n usually requires the artistry of a machine shop,......

Well this is what i found seems like crankshaft has some movement and wiping out rear bearing. Read some where that this was an issue with these yr engines

Yes its the rear of crankshaft
