I've just pickup a dinghy, but i'm worried to open the box. Boat is a signature 300, 10'-3" beam, with a extend V plateform of 8'-6" wide.
Will i eventually regret going to a 8'-10" dinghy? the smaller model was 8'-2", but for 100$ difference i felt like it wasn'T worth going to the smaller that can only have a 3hp max, compared to 8hp for the 8'-10"

Hi e-blanc -

What are you going to do with it? If you're gunna tend to a larger vessel and check around it while docked or run to shore while moored - go dinghy. If you're going to use it for everything else go larger. There is not much room in these to begin with.

`

will be mostly used for the kids while we are moored. But i'm worried about when we get to dock with the dinghy mounted on the size in Marinas.

What did you meant by "go dinghy"?

Hi e -

...go dinghy meant if you were going to store it on your main boat and use it to just check things out and around your larger vessel, the ease of it to me would seem a better fit... sounds like you have kids in the plan so go larger for more room and safety.

Too late for regrets, the transaction has already been made, it's a nice starter for kids, latter when they become experts can upgrade to a larger model.

i think 7', 8' or 9' kids will enjoy it either way, but i have 3 so smaller means by the rule only 2 passenger, technically. The box is not open yet so i can return it anytime and pick a smaller model. My main concern is inconvenience when the dinghy will be mounted on the swim plateform. We go through many docks.

Measure the swing plateform and then pick the sib's lenght that fits right to your available space.
