8 inch wheels on highway

i have a small trailer with 8 inch wheels on it i am lookin to take it on a highway where speeds are 70+ mph. i have to go about 200 miles round trip. the trailer will be loaded with a 750 motorcycle 1 way (home) about 400 lbs give or take is this a good idea ?

do the tires have a speed or load rating on them?

590 a peice load range B but i dont see a speed rating on them

Many snowmobile trailers have 8" wheels, and do fine on the hwy.<br /><br />Also, many of the small trailers you can pull behind your motorcycle come with 8" wheels. Atleast mine did.<br />(95 mph for 300+ miles)

Hey Wayne,<br /><br />I had a small ATV trailer that had the same tires, 8" wheels, 590 pounds each. Towed two ATV's (about 800 pounds total) plus the trailer was about 250-300, total weight about 1100. Never had a problem, took a couple 300 mile trips with it. Just try to not go over 65 or so if you can, and if you have the opportunity, stop every once and a while and just make sure the hubs aren't burning up. Mine had bearing buddies on them and I just kept them pumped up.

Shouldn't be a problem, but Steve's advise on bearing buddies is a good one. Keep an eye on the hubs cause they'll be making a lot of revolutions, but should be able to handle the load and the distance with no problem - have done some 1300 mile round trips with a lot more weight than you are hauling with no problem. Was in a colder climate, better heat dissipation, but that shouldn't matter for what you are doing.

thanks guys i am gonna borrow a motorcycle trailer just to be on the safe side i hate borrowing things but i think this will be the safer rought
