Stick with the barrel. They don't make a flushing attachment for your motor anymore You might find one on E-Bay..

I sometimes use the muffs on my motors. I remove the water bypass plate. Square muffs work well because there is not much room. I clipped one side of some round ones and they work well. If you do remove that plate you will see the muffs need to be all the way forward in the opening. The photo is of the bypass plate.

I also made this plate that screws into the bypass. And I drilled a hole and used the muffs frame to hold the hose nipple in place. EDIT For best results it is a good idea to cover the main water intake, located in the snout over the prop. It will work if you dont but as you can see in my photo some water escapes through there.
