80 lbs. of thrust sufficient for a 20' aluminum boat?

Toying with the idea of buying a trolling motor for my 20' aluminum boat. Will that be enough power for use in a tidal river?

80 lbs will probably require 2 batteries at 24V. Even the largest single battery (12V) will be adequate. You will not go fast but a single 12V with 55 lbs will work just fine. I have used 40lb on 18' bass boats and it worked fine.
