hi took advice from you guys and tried out the checkmate eluder 83 bofore i biought it and it ran great. did 59 on fairly calm niagara river with a 22 pitch stainless 3 blade. do you think theres more speed in it in another prop. the guy said if i drop the jack plate it will go faster but i didnt try it yet....thx again for your advice...bill

Of course a different size prop will make it go faster depending on the size of your boat, hull type, weight, and what you use your boat for. The best way to find out is to go through about 4-5 different props with different pitches to find the one best for your boat. Unlike me, I'm a po boy and I can only use what prop I can afford. I sheer props like crazy, at least 3 a year.
