80s Mercury 115 powerhead compatibility

Can anyone tell if the powerhead from a 82 merc 115 6cyl will fit an 88 115 6cyl?

I see two part numbers between the two engines.

79743A32 - The powerhead I'm looking at, and figure to be an 82 by the donor serial number
42110A83 - Also listed in the merc parts catalog as a powerhead for the same serial number range and listed as the powerhead for my 88 115.

Will this swap work?

Do they both use the same gasket between engine and exhaust housing ?---If so , then yes I think it will work.

Good call on the gasket. They do use the same gasket. Other than that gasket and the gasket for the carbs, I can't think of any others (looking at the drawings) that I'll need. Do you know of any off the top of your head I should watch out for? This is a first for me. The powerhead on mine has broken rings on the #4 cylinder (used a boroscope to see that) and I can find a use powerhead with solid compression for much cheaper than a rebuild kit.
