I have a '81, 115 inline 6 Merc with a broken skeg. I would like to go with skeggard but they only go back to '85 for 2 stroke iline motors. I contacted them and they didn't know if '81 and '85 used the same gear case or not and sugested I contact Mercury. No help was found from Mercury on products that old. So I tried dealers they weren't sure of what was made in what years just serial numbers. Does anybody here know if the gear case or skeg on an '81 and '85 are a match? Thanks
