81 25hp Evinrude won't fire

81 evinrude 25 hp will not start. Replaced starter coil assembly and power pack per directions from tech who tested electrical components. Plugs getting fuel and have sufficient compression... very frustrated and new to boating. PLEASE HELP!

any chance you switched the spark plug leads?...the wires coming from the pp to the coils, the upper lead should be orange with a blue stripe and the lead for the lower cylinder should be orange with a green stripe...have you determined that the spark produced will jump a 7/16" open air gap?...flywheel key is in place and not sheared?...these are sorta fundamental " could be's"..the website cdielectronics.com/troubleshooting will have a much more detailed diagnostic path for ignition problems

^^agree. fundamental stuff first. Check assembly/reassembly. First step is just to check for spark with an adjustable spark tester (auto parts store). Kill switch circuit can sometimes be a problem.
