Welcome to the Dry Dock....and congrats on the new family member

Well, on your boat, the foam will never "dry out" it will have to be removed and replaced. You'll need it out to replace stringers anyway (I'm sure they are gone along with the deck (floor). Good luck and keep us posted. Nothing you're going to run into that can't be addressed here.

Re: 81 arrowglass work??

thank you on the new family member..
Well when i got some of the flooring removed i noticed that only on the starbord side the wood was wet and started to come apart. and on the center stringer only the first 1 foot was wet so i am hoping for good news there if you look at the 3rd picture where the back end of the drill is the hull and floor are about 1/4 to 1/2 inch from touching?? what would be the best to use and there is also 2x4's coming up from the floor that hold the lower side rails on? i want to try and cut around them also i can get a hand held grinder and get a saw blade for it but any othere ideas and also how much and type of glass would some one say to use??
Also has any one on here ever redone the flooring on a 81 arrowglass??

thanks Milt

(( Don't judge a boat if she floats..:) If she sinks  then its time for a few drinks))

3/4" plywood is the norm for stringers, but many different woods can be used. Splicing the stringer is okay as long as you are SURE the rest of it is solid.

As far as the deck (floor) 1/2" plywood is the norm there. Polyester resin is the best choice for all the repairs..

i have a good supply of wood i have 32 sheets of pressure treated wood since a reciever rejected the wood. now when i am cutting the floor out what would be the best tool? i dont want to cut into the hull since there is only about a 1/4 gap from hull to floor?

most use a skill saw...test the thickness of your deck now and set the blade about a 1/16" less, this will ensure your don't cut into the hull. If the rot is really bad it will most likely come out in pieces anyway.

Now on the treated lumber....alothough some will argue, I wouldn't use it for your boat (personally I wouldn't use it for anything). If you do use it make d**n sure it's dried out really well or you could have some adhesion problems with your resins.

Just plain AC exterior plywood is fine...sealed up with polyester resin and matt and you'll have a deck for years to come. (if you want to do it really good use marine grade plywood, I always do). Lots of opinions on the type of plywood here also....
