Its been sitting or about a year, ever since I got my new Tracker, but my son has decided to try to take it up as his first boat.
It was running when I parked it, though I admit I didnt properly get ready for an extend period of no use.
Weve taken the carb apart and it cleaned it, replaced a bad fuel line and new fuel. Now it smokes from the front of the carb between pulls on the cord and will only start IN GEAR and with the throttle wide open. After a little feathering of the throttle it will idle in gear with a slightly higher RPM than normal but immediately dies if I throttle back enough to move it to neutral and will NOT start in neutral.
It never smoked from the carb in the past, what could be causing that? Possibly clogged exhaust is all I can come up with but am reluctant to start digging into the motor, at least for now. Any other ideas?
