'81 Johnson 35hp

I can't get the fuel line attached to the motor. Bought a new generic line, no good. Bought a new end fitting, oem. Leaks worse, neither will click into place. I'm thinking the male part attached to the motor is missing a seal or o ring. Or maybe just needs to be replaced. Does anyone know what it's called?
