81 merc ury 40 horse starter brackets broke

Good afternoon I have a 1981 merc got it out of the garage today starter was not engaging in the flywheel Ok thought Bendix was bad. No such luck. The front tab from the block closest to the carb completely broken off the block the rear one ready to completely break. I pulled the schematic from merc parts express hoping it was a bracket but it is the front half of the block assy. Has any one had aluminum welded?l Any other ideas. I have used JB weld in the past for minor repairs but dont think that is the route

Find a GOOD welder, That knows aluminum.
JB ain't going to cut it. You right.
It has to be tig welded

Thank you for your time on a Saturday. I found a guy locally that will look at in next week. Kinda hoping to get out tonight to do a little fishing but hey could of been worse I guess
