First I would like to say thank you to all the marine mechanics out there that take the time to answer all the questions us diy'ers have. I have almost made it through the whole project and have found all i needed in the forums already answerd, thank you all so much.
I have an 81, 26' wellcraft with a full cuddy cabin and i am about 2 weeks from first float test......so excited. I got this whole setup trailer and all for $1400.00. I have about $800.00 in parts and i have done all the labor.
Boat was solid when i got it motor, bellows, and a lot of the wiring was shot, i picked up an old 5.7l out of a chevy c20 and converted it over to a marine motor and now its purring like a kitten, my only worry is that i have enough low end tork to get on plane without having to install a new cam, new bellows are on and glued and now i have a bench full of mahogany waiting on me to make it look as good as it sounds.
Will post more pics as project progresses just wanted to say thankyou to all those that make this forum the great resource that it is
