'82 Evin 35hp l/u manual recommendation

My manual (Clymer) doesn't even mention my 35hp, 1982 Evinrude, in the gearcase section. No picture, no text, nada.<br /><br />I need to know which manual covers it before I go and buy another one. <br /><br />It appears that the 80-82 gearcases are different from other years. Anyone know which other models or years use the same gearcase?<br /><br />Or is there an online parts diagram somewhere?<br />(similar to merc parts express)<br /><br />sparrowhawk@direcway.com

go to your local dealer, they can acess dealerport which has an online parts catalog in it, have them let you look at those diagrams, and even print them out, id cant give you access to the site as its for dealers only and you know the rest, if you give me your model and serial numbers, i might be able to fwd them in an email to you as i have access to that information, actually i can print them out and fax them to you if needed you can email me at marinegrh@bellsouth.net with your info

According to some online parts sites, I use the same waterpump as the 85 and newer , 20-25-30hp engines. The pictures of the parts look right, from what I can tell. Could it be the same lower unit? Maybe they just forgot to print this in my manual?<br /><br />I don't mind buying another manual, if it covers my l/u. Don't expect anything for free. Just want to be sure it covers it.<br /><br />Nearest "local" service/dealer is 55+ miles away, and they don't even sell manuals. I have checked the libraries, no luck.<br /><br />Well, if you can help clarify this, great. But don't get yourself in trouble doing it.<br /><br />I have a 1982 Evinrude 35hp tiller, rope, shortshaft.<br />E35RCND<br />E00085940<br /><br />Do you by chance know if the electric start conversion kit is still available for this motor?<br />I think it is part number 173964.<br /><br />Any help is appreciated, <br />roscoe.

Hi Roscoe<br /><br />As far as I can see they have the same lower unit from 81 ( start of disassembling shift rod behind plactic intake ) thru 89.

My manual has a separate section and diagram, for 1985 and newer, 20-25-30-35hp gearcases.<br /><br />The only 2 references to my motor in the entire gearcase section, is for the shift lever adjustment. There is a special section for 73-82, 20-35 hp.<br /><br />And that on 1982 and newer, the shift rod connector is behind the water intake.<br /><br />There can't be too many differences, I guess, because they seem to share some common parts.

Thanks WildeOne, I checked there first, they only cover motors, 1979 and older.
