when i turn the key to the off position, the engine cuts out considerably but will not turn off completely it stays running with maybe a misfire. when i turn the key back on the engine runs smooth again. the control box has the black and yellow wire cut before the emergency kill switch. I tried touching those together with the engine running and the motor runs as normal. I also tried grounding that wire in the control box ground wire which is grounded on the block. and the same thing happens..the engine looses rpm but does not kill all the way. I have to turn the fuel primer valve to manual position to kill the engine. Can someone help me? i was thinking about wiring up a kill switch myself but im not exactly sure where, i have a shop manual and the wiring diagram.

The kill circuit from the ignition switch leading back to the RED connector at the engine is a single Black/Yellow wire. Within that RED connector, that single wire branches off into two (2) Black/Yellow wires with each one leading to the individual powerpacks.

Either one of those wires at the engine side is broken, OR a Pin/Socket has been pushed backwards slightly at one of the rubber plug connector so that the connection is faulty, OR a powerpack has failed.

Any chance you recently replaced a power pack? I had this exact situation after I replaced a pack. Changed that pack out again and everything was normal.

My bet would be you have a bad pin connection in the big cannon plug or in the plugs to you power pack.
