I just replaced the flappers in my Y-pipe and installed with the ears facing upwards they look like they fit right but they are stiff to move is this normal they can be moved strait up and back with your fingers but they do have resistance.

The "Ears" go down in the exhaust Y and they should be easy to move. If they are not easy to move they are not installed correctly.
