I have a 28' Bayliner with a Volvo Penta 260a motor (350 Chevy) and I am thinking it is a AQ280 outdrive. I bought the boat last year and the boat would turn left real sharp but would barely turn right at all. I recently started working on the steering. The steering wheel would only turn right like half to 3/4 of a turn and it would turn left like 2 full turns. I finally got it adjusted so that it turns both ways about the same. I measured the back of the outdrive from one of the rivets on the right and left of the outdrive to the trim tabs on the right and left. I found that my outdrive turns left 3 more inches then it will turn to the right. Feels like something is stopping the outdrive from going any more to the right. Does anyone have any ideas why it would turn more to the left then right? Ive looked inside and out to try to see something that would stop it from turning but havent been able to find anything.
