A fresh water flush of the powerhead can be done, but if the motor is run in a fresh water river or lake after the use in salt water you should be fine. If you do flush it down make sure that the battery is disconnected while doing so and blow the entire powerhead down with compressed air and let it dry before hooking the battery up and using it again. Most of the electrical connections have some sort of waterproofing or cover on the connections. JMO

Very good idea on tha older stuff. Theres probably a lotta bolts and other parts that have tha paint knocked off of 'em. Tape up tha "air box" and/or tha carb inlets also. Another place is tha "tiller arm and clamp bracket. Especially tha tiller. Its a little one and will rust up really quick being that old. Put it in tha Sun for a day or two ta completly dry like said..............

it might be a good idea to spray the engine down particularly the electronics with PB Blaster. This will not hurt the electronics and keep a barrier to protect everything until you give it a good washing later on.

Some good degreaser in greasy areas isn't a bad idea either. Don't spray into places like intakes or up under the flywheel. Major electrical components can be bagged and taped too ...just like you'd do on a car.
