Hello,

I just replaced the starter and solinoid last year, so I don't think its that. I've also had the choke plunger replaced about three years ago. It was running like always haven't had to do anything to it in a year and then it just wouldn't start. I could only get a very faint sound after playing with the battery wires. I try to replace everything I can on my own, but I don't know a lot about figuring out whats is broke. Any suggestions on what ths could be?

Check the battery for a good charge and start checking all the connections sounds like something came loose or is corroded.

Pickup a battery terminal cleaner from a auto parts store and do a good cleaning of the cables and terminals. Check to see if you have good voltage at the connection on the starter solenoid. Also try jumping the starter solenoid to see if it will start.

Ok I checked all of the batter connections and wires couldn't find anything, but it still won't start. Is there anything else it could be? Thanks for any info.

Will the motor turn over when you turn the key. WE are of course assuming that it is an electric start.

It won't turn over at all when I play with the batter wires I can just barely get a starting sound. I no its not the impeller. I hope I don't have to take this thing in the only repair shop in my area is absolutely unreasonable.

Hello, anyone have any experience with this? Its not the starter or solinoid or battery what else could it be? I just took a look at it and can't find anything visually that looks out of place. Just need a few other opions?

I went out and took another look at it washed it down and fiddled with a few wires and now when I go to start it I get a starting sound but it won't turn over. Anyone know what this could be?

Connect the battery to the battery leads and check with a volt meter that you have 12volts across the solenoid when you turn the key. If you do and the motor does not turn over then connect a jumpstart cable to the positive terminal of the starter motor and with the ignition turned OFF touch the other end of the Jumpcable to the positive side of the battery. If the motor turns then the solenoid is faulty.
If you dont get the volts across the solenoid primary then the remote wiring or the connector or the In Neutral switch is not functioning or The ground side of the solenoid is not good. Test between the positive terminal of the solenoid and the motor frame to prove the grounding of the solenoid. If you get volts when you test to the motor frame and not when you go to the ground terminal of the solenoid then you have a bad solenoid ground connection.
Hope this helps.

Thanks I will try that. I'm also going to replace the spark plugs.

Got it fixed all I had to do was sand down all of the battery connections.
