Hello all, first time poster.Now that the kids are gone, I'm going fishing again after 25 years!!! I just bought an 18' Renken w/ 1.6L OMC OB. The previous owner got tired of sinking money into it and has a kid on the way...so now its my headache of sorts. He had the entire electrical system replaced, steering from front to back, and entire OMC electrical overhaul incl. VRO pump. It needs bottom paint and some trailer light brackets then were off into the water.
I would like to get some carpet and cushons for the cuddy but can not find a dealer how sells the items. Originals rug is so-so, but would like nicer. Also, he kinda gutted the deck and only has the chair next to the controls. I contacted Renken who told me there are NO available pics of what the boat looked like for me to compare so I'm left to my own ingenuity to figure how I want to arrange the seating. I see some stores sell the back to back seats that fold. Does anyone have any input with these type of seats? The cuddy door was remove and theres nothing............just wood trim 2ft square. Any ideas on where to get a door or will I have to fabricate? (the new girlfriend is shy, otherwise I'd just put a curtain up
) I dont want to go crazy with a restoration of a defunct boat company, but I DO want to be comfortable, and get my butt back out in the water again. Thank you for your time and hope to be hearing from you guys soon!
