Getting very testy now trying to remove lower bearing carrier, puller, penetrating fluid, slide hammer and heat and cant budge it, i have been heating with a standard home depot propane torch around the prop end of the housing, is the inner end of the carrier fit the inside of the casing tight? should i be heating down inside to expand the casing? The 4 bolts have been removed, whats holding this sucker in? Help!!!!!!!!!!

Tks for diagram, have studied it and nothing holding the carrier in but the bearings on the output shaft and the tight fit in the casing, going to have to try a real torch i think to get it loose. Prob hasnt been out since it was new so bound up good for sure.
Tks again

I have had good service from the GLM standard carrier puller.

I have had a few 800 series apart (all freshwater) and never had to heat them. Slow, steady even pressure from a puller designed for the task.
O ring and corrosion the only thing holding it once the 4 bolts are out.

Bernz-O-Matic Brazing Kit
Product #58-0031-0 from Canadian Tire is a better rig than the standard plumbers propane torch
I have oxy-acet in the shop, but grab that thing more often...handy

I also speedy-sleeved an 800 prop shaft with 2 stainless sleeves and that worked well....couldn't find a sleeve wide enough for the double lip, but 2 sleeves worked... had to make a tool to push them on as I recall- supplied tooling wasn't designed for the depth of a propeller shaft.. in fact I still have that sleeved lower if you blow yours up trying to get it apart :)
good luck... lots of oil and patience

Tks for reply, The puller i had worked as far as fitting the carrier and end of shaftm but tightened all i dare without breaking something, it was torqued up pretty good, i have a bud with oxy-acet torch so guess thats the next step, my drive had been in salt water before i bought it so additional corrsion in there i guess. I had a similar prob getting the exhaust housing off from the swivil bearing housing, but heat and a puller it finally gave up.

Tks agn for info
