I need the timing spec for my 115hp! The book says to refer to the decal on the engine? Don't have the decal!
I will time per Joe Reeves method but i need to know where to start.

Thanks,

Larry

I have a 76 Johnson 115 manual that calls for 24* at 4600 rpm, I Checked my 85 Johnson 115 and there is not a sticker on it with the number, but one that refers you to the manual.

Re: '85 115hp Timing Spec

I still need this info if anyone knows it.
I can't find my OEM manual (me thinks the wife may have tossed it to keep me from spending any more money on my engine...lol)

If someone can help it would be much appreciated! Hate to buy a new manual in case mine shows up.

'85 115hp Sea Drive (if that makes any difference)!

Thanks,
Larry

This is not exactly what you are after, but: The 1986 models are timed at 28 degrees +- 1 degree. That's with 87 octane fuel.

Thanks emdsapmgr!
Thats a start at least. I take it as per Joes timing tip that I should set at 24 degrees?

My '83 115 has a sticker and it says 28 degrees. I timed mine last summer using the Joe Reeves' method and painted the 24 mark with white paint to make it easier to read. Worked like a champ.
