Motor sat for 2 years. Started in the yard on hose. It idles and accelerates good when run on the hose. But when I put it in the lake this weekend and put it in gear-tried to accelerate it died before it even moved 10 feet(motor never rev's up before it would die). Tinkered with the mixture. but no luck. could get it to run in gear at idle for a few seconds before it would die again. Pulled the plug wires could not tell a difference in the idle when I pulled the bottom plug wire?!? Idle would drop(a little) when I pulled the middle plug wire. But the motor would die(almost immediatly) when I unplugged the top plug wire. Also could tell very little difference in idle when I adjusted the mixture control on the bottom carb. Put new plug in bottom cylinder to no avail. Fuel is going to the bottom carb, it is full every time I pull the drain plug. It looks like fuel is pooling up in the throat of the bottm carb when it is sitting there idleing. Bought new Mercury fuel line assembly but this did not help. Although I did notice that the primer bulb will not harden up. Could this be due to a leaky carb? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Blair
