Hi guys, my boat- 1984 bayliner Capri 16"
Engine- 85 force model# 856x5l serial-1975

The problem- my left pivot shoulder bolt broke from corrosion. This is the bolt which will hold the engine in the upmost position for entering the water and putting it back on the trailer as well. I was told today by my local marina he can't find the bolt for sale through mercruiser. Can somebody please point me in the right direction where to find it or send me the link if you see it on eBay? I'm also not too positive that I'm calling it by its correct name but I know you guys know exactly which bolt will lock the engine up. Also, I have no tilt so I need to get it fixed asap. Thanks everyone

I usually keep things like this but don't have this one :(

Maybe someone will have it.

Don't wanna spend??
The bolt in the pic. There are 4 used in that assy.
Did you manage to get the rest of the bolt out of the hole?
You can possibly remove the inner bolt and replace with a bolt.
You'll have to cut it down as the head might be too big.

Drill the yoke and tap it for 3/8 -16. Regular 3/8 bolt. Use a regular bolt with a nut on the back to keep it from backing out. Use a washer under the head to keep it from slipping through the tilt lock plate. You may need to grind the bolt head down slightly for clearance. I do this when the yoke strips from corrosion

I have a bunch of these bolts and in fact there is one sitting on my desk right now. However, I can not send or receive private messages and I will not post my email or phone on the open forum. There are a few fellows on the forum whom I have helped and they do have my address so if they send you a PM you could then contact me.. You could have the part for postage.
